Pittsburgh, PA
Steelers Heinz Field Stadium, Pirates PNC Park, and the Carnegie Science Center can be seen on the northern coast of the Allegheny River, while the South Side is beyond the southern banks of the Monongahela River on the lower left. These two rivers form the Ohio River which flows north-northwest.
Point Park hosts numerous events including the exciting Regatta with boat races, and Three Rivers Arts Festival, conventions, etc. The Downtown area holds the PPG (Pittsburgh Plate and Glass) office complex with its sparkling glass surface. Once disdainfully called the Smoky City, now called the Most livable City. EcoClean !
The confluence of the Monongahuela and Allegheny which forms the Ohio River is adorned by Point Park.
The Gateway Clipper Fleet has regular tours up to each of the locks on each of the rivers and during activities docked at Station Square accessable via the historic bridge seen on the lower left.
The Bass Masters Tournament was held on the rivers in 2006 and again in 2008.
The waters contain: 2 pound+ small and large mouth, and 10 pound+ striper bass; 1 pound+ rainbow and brook trout; 12 pound+ walleye, 15 pound+ muskie; 2 pound+ sauger; 5 pound+ catfish; 10 pound+ carp; crappies; and, blue gail. The shad run in the Fall.
